This might be the BIGGEST problem for f2p Players | Honkai: Star Rail

Per usual, f2p players will ALWAYS have to plan ahead and go into things smartly, but I want to point out 2 things to aid my discussion here.
1) f2p players "plan ahead" by knowing what's ahead and as of right now, if Hoyoverse themselves have not announced it, then it's not safe territory to plan around. They have been on super police mode in regards to punishing l3@kers. It's safer to assume f2p players will only know what's coming 1 patch ahead, MAYBE.

2) Just because we know they NEED to plan smartly, doesn't negate whether or not a max output of 80 pulls per patch is better or worse for them in relation to the insanely high guarantee (basically 180 pulls). I think this is worth talking about.

got seele after 40 pulls and am now 50 pulls in, going to stop for jing yuan i dont want to accidentally get seele twice.

Playing higan and find it pretty good and the gacha system is good to get desired 5star at 120pulls but here thing is different gacha is always the worst in hoyoverse game like genshin and honkai and they are just too much greedy at this point so just make this game to get more money out of it

For the sake of being precise, light cones work similiarly to weapon in Genshin. You need to put the lightcone to the character of the same path the same way you need to give a claymore to a claymore user and you cannot give him a catalyst. We will get more and more 4* lightcone that will be good on our pg the same way it was in Genshin

Oh i see well time to skip this game then thank you better wait for Wuthering waves then. So this is not f2p game more like whaler game you open my eyes I'm sad but yup have to move on I'm going to genshin at least I have a chance to get the 5 star I want

The game will have to be super easy because otherwise F2P players will not be able to advance in the content

Is it probable that I get Jing Yuan if I fully grind out the game (chests, story, events) while being f2p?

Well, the game does allow us to get f2p 5* weapons that can be refined to R5 from the Simulated Universe. Currently, they only have a Hunt, Destruction and perserverance weapon, but possibly they will add more? While not as strong as signature light cones, I feel like this will offer quite a solid boost to your characters.

Kinda how most standard 5* weapons in genshin are not really strong compared to signatures, but if you refine them, they can compete.

personally think that the game having shit like "light cones" which is just a fancy way of saying weapon is super scummy. Turn based games should be more lenient with shit like that as it's pretty much almost mandatory to gun for every character in an elemental turn based game. Super predatory. Hoyoverse probably doesnt know how this kind of game works so maybe it should learn from something like Onmyoji RPG, the only other turn based gacha with complex enough systems that still makes money somehow.

What a stupid argument, you don't have to get every character , if the character is not going to help in the long run just skip it , they will release a patch before the release of a unit 2 days before of its release so we can plan ahead pretty easily and if we summon or not

Do you know if these “limited” banners will be like genshin where they aren’t added to the standard banner later? Or like a traditional gacha that has collab and season limiteds?

Considering how things are
I’m definitely considering avoiding Jing Yuan for now.

I’ll most likely avoid the 50 pity banner for now because of Seele: I will go for Seele first depending on how lucky I get I will then consider spending on the 50 pity banner to see if I can get Bronya. I am definitely considering Bronya more than anyone else on the standard banner. If I don’t get lucky on early pity I will either either wait for Kafka or re decide how my team works from there.

Seele seems like the less optimal from a power prospective from what it seems because you need a valid team composition compared to Jing Yuan that can carry you early game but in the long run I definitely see Seele benefitting a F2P player in the long run compared to Jing Yuan that will probably leave you with less summons than you desire.
